As a conclusion to Dance Ireland Mentored Residency Support Award, Mary Nugent will share part of her journey in creating her first self directed dance piece. This process started in the Firkin Crane supported by the Inquiry, part of Cork’s Dancer in Residency programme. It then traveled to Dublin where Mary has been mentored by Fearghus Ó Conchúir in choreographic skills, with Dawn Mulloy as her collaborator. During her residency, Fearghus has provided a space for Mary’s own choreographical ideas to develop, while offering support and building blocks to refine those ideas. Mary and Fearghus worked together when she performed in his Rhythm of Fierce for Croí Glan Integrated Dance Company in 2015.
